New Year Resolutions- Make reading a resolution

Happy new year... This being a reading blog, i will steer clear of all the other resolution that one makes in the beginning of the year. The most obvious include dropping bad habits like drinking and smoking and picking new ones like attending church regularly(This explains the high number of people in churches last Sunday.)

As we set up new year resolutions lets remember to set up new reading resolutions. These include

  • Setting up a realistic number of books to be read in a month
  • Exploring other genres besides our comfort zone e.g if you like literary fiction read from another genre this year!
  • Set up a goal of owning a few copies (You don't have to borrow all the time) Build up your own personal library
  • Resolve to recover books lent out to friend and relatives (Some borrow and keep books until you ask)
  • Resolve to inculcate the reading culture in children. Yours,  Friends and even joining one of those groups who read to the less fortunate.
  • Resolve to join an active book club
  • Resolve to read online articles and ebooks- it beats visiting social media sites and sseing what other had for breakfast!
  • Resolve to enjoy  reading

Happy 2017 fellow readers
